8th Graders Awarded Saintly Scholars Medals at 2024 Graduation

All Saints Catholic School in Norwalk awarded its first "Saintly Scholars Awards" on June 3, 2024, at this year’s 8th grade graduation. The students receiving the awards were chosen as students who embodied the virtues of an ASCS graduate.

The inaugural recipients of this award were Katelyn Maroney and Nicholas Leon Rivera. Katelyn will be attending St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, and Nicholas will be attending Fairfield Prep for high school.

“At All Saints Catholic School, we believe in preparing our scholars not just for high school and college, but for life's many challenges,” says Steven Virdadamo, Head of School. “Through our Portrait of a Graduate framework, we nurture essential virtues and skills, ensuring our scholars are respectful, faithful, compassionate, confident, and ready to lead with resilience and empathy.”

“The Portrait of a Graduate at All Saints Catholic School is more than a vision; it is a commitment to forming students who embody these virtues.” says Virdgadamo, Head of School. “As we pursue our mission of inspiring students to love God and serve others, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child can grow in faith, knowledge, and character. Together, we look forward to seeing our students flourish and make a positive impact on the world.”

“We congratulate Kaitlyn Maroney and Nicholas Leon Rivera for being the first recipients of the Saintly Scholars Awards.” says All Saints principal Linda Dunn. “Their achievements set a shining example for future students. As Kaitlyn continues her education at St. Joseph High School and Nicholas at Fairfield Prep, we have no doubt that they will continue to embody the virtues of a graduate of All Saints Catholic School.”

Mrs. Dunn explains: “This  model is designed to guide all of our efforts as we seek to create an environment where every student can thrive. By focusing on the virtues we wish to see in our graduates, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who will carry their faith and values into the wider world”

Our graduates will be: Respectful, Faithful, Compassionate, Confident, Innovative, Generous, Empathetic, Leaders, Disciples, Resilient

“These virtues were chosen by our faculty and staff, and the signs and symbols of our commitment to living these virtues can be found throughout our campus.” says Mrs. Dunn.
