Tuesday with a Teacher

Name: Mrs. Kathleen Iannazzo, Kindergarten

How long have you been teaching? (and how long at All Saints) 22 years teaching and 18 at ASCS.

What is the best part of your job? The best part of my job is being part of a child's educational journey. Enjoying the daily hugs and light -bulb moments, hoping to instill a love of learning along the way.

If you had a superpower for the day, what would it be? If I had a superpower for the day it would be speed reading. I would read all the novels I've been wanting to read, how to gardening books and guides to antiquing. The true super power is being able to retain and use all that information!

What is your favorite kind of music? I like soft rock and country music. I am also a big fan of James Taylor and Journey.

Do you have any pets? I have a Maltese named Luigi, but we call him Lou. He brings lots of love and laughter to our home!

Do you have a hidden talent? If yes, what is it? Hint, hint ....I have a green thumb.

What is your favorite type of book to read? (or favorite book title) I like reading historical fiction, romance novels and how to books. My favorite children's book is The Giving Tree.

What did you want to be when you grew up? I have always wanted to be a teacher. My first grade teacher was retiring and gave me a box of her teaching supplies. That was the day I became a teacher. I set up a classroom on my porch and began teaching all the neighborhood kids!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Key West, Florida right on Duval Street. I would enjoy the sunshine and music!

What was your first job? My first job was a "page" at the Norwalk Public Library. I worked in the children's department where I put books away and helped children find their favorite stories.

Any other fun facts? I am the mother of two ASCS alumni. My son, Nick (class of 2003) is a doctor and lives in Indianapolis. My daughter, Melissa (class of 2005) is a designer in Manhattan.
