26 Acts of Kindness
Our "26 Acts of Kindness"campaign begins today. Please see the calendar here. Each week we will have collection days for the less fortunate. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we will be collecting toiletries which can be dropped off in the school foyer in the morning. This collection will be sent to " Kids in Crisis". Your continued generosity is appreciated.

Registration for Next Year-Deadline 1/20
Thank you to all those families who have already returned their registration forms for next year. The deadline is January 20. After that time, registration will be open to the community. You need to secure your spot for next year now. We have had an excellent response to our "Take a Look Tuesday" so far and we have enrolled quite a few new students since September with more coming this month. Our phone keeps ringing and we are giving tours daily.

Catholic Schools Week 2017

All Saints Catholic School will join with the other Catholic Schools in the nation in celebrating "Catholic Schools Week 2017" from January 29- February 4. We will have Open House for interested families at our school on Sunday, January 29 from 12-2 and on Monday and Tuesday, January 30-31 from 8:30-10. We need to get the word out with signs and flyers. Please consider taking some signs and helping us by putting them around town and in your neighborhood . Signs and flyers are in the school office. From the feedback we are receiving, we are anticipating a large turnout.

Midterm Exams
Midterm exams for middle school students begin on January 12. Study Guides will be available on January 3.

Health Information
As you may have heard in the local news, the flu and stomach bugs are making their way through Fairfield County. If your child is sick, keep him/her home! A child must be fever free for 24 hours in order to return to school. A child must have gone 24 hours without vomiting in order to return to school. Your consideration for the health and safety of others is greatly appreciated.

Sports Reminders
Parents of basketball players are being asked to review the Sports Handbook on the school website. The policy is clearly stated in multiple sections: Players who are absent from school on any given day -for any reason -may not participate in games or practices on the day of the absence.

Middle School Parents:
Mrs Marcia Kallon, one of our Spanish teachers, will be out for 4-6 weeks while she recuperates from a recent surgery . We look forward to her return as good as new in February. A long term Spanish sub has been hired to teach her 7th grade classes. Her name is Diana Penagas . She is Columbian and has 17 years experience in the classroom as a Spanish teacher. In addition to her regular duties, Mrs.Perez will be teaching the 8th grade B block Spanish class until Mrs . Kallon returns. Your child's continued good work ethic and behavior is expected .

Scarlett Lewis to Speak at ASCS on January 31

This year All Saints Catholic School was selected by The Jesse Lewis Foundation as one of several schools in the nation to pilot the Choose Love Program in grades 3, 6,7, and 8.

Courage + gratitude + forgiveness + compassion is the four-ingredient formula for choosing love. This is the premise of the Choose Love enrichment program created by Lewis shortly after the death of her son Jesse at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. Thus began the late nights with other mothers and educators who worked together to write a curriculum to feasibly teach children in elementary schools and high schools how to change their angry thoughts into loving ones. Lewis created the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides materials for educators to access for free online and teach in their schools.

On January 31 (snow date 2/1/17) at 7:00PM in the All Saints Catholic School auditorium, Scarlett Lewis will present the Choose Love program history and curriculum to interested parents, educators, administrators and friends. Please mark your calendars now! We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible from our school. This is a passionate and unforgettable presentation! The Choose Love program contains essential life ingredients for everyone.  You can read more about the program here.

Thank you
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents of our school for their kindness and generosity shown to the administration, faculty and staff during the Christmas season. God bless and a BIG THANK YOU from all of us!
