Saintly Spotlight:

 
Congratulations to Mrs Janet Mitchell, mom of Sean, Jason, Kate and Lily!  Mrs. Mitchell received the St.Augustine Medal of Service from Bishop Caggiano on Saturday for her volunteer service to our school. Thank you, Janet, and God bless !
 
 
Congratulations to Kevin Fitzpatrick, our advanced math teacher, on completing the half marathon in Norwalk on Saturday.  He has lost over 150 lbs and achieved his goal of crossing the finish line in this race!


Trek for Tech This Sunday
 
Our 6th Annual Walk-a-thon for Technology: "Trek for Tech" will be held at All Saints Catholic School on Sunday, October 23 from 12:00- 2:30.  Come out and join us on the track to show your school spirit !  All walkers need to have a waiver which is available online or at the check in table. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and plan to have lunch with us! Food, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.  There will be a raffle that day for a VERY SPECIAL PRIZE!

It is our goal to raise over $12,000 to upgrade the technology at our school.

Halloween at ASCS
The  Middle School Halloween Dance will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 7:00PM- 9:00PM in the school cafeteria . Tickets are now on sale for $10 in the school office. All middle school students  must have a permission slip on file to attend.

 
The Family Halloween Dance (grades PK-5) will take place on Friday evening,October 28 at 6:30pm. Information for both evenings

Trunk or Treat
The Home School Association will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event in our school parking lot on Sunday October 30 from 5-7pm. Details coming soon!
 
Halloween Parade 
will take place outside on the track on Monday, October 31. The children will begin lining up in the school building at 12:45PM and walk once around the track at 1:00PM.Parents are invited to the parade.Please go directly to the track outside. (In case of rain,  we will have the parade in the gym.) After the parade, the students ONLY will return to the classrooms. Dismissal will be at the normal time.

All students in grades PK- 8 may wear their costumes to school.  Middle School students may choose to either wear a costume or have a " Black and Orange" Dress Down Day. Be sure that your child's costume is comfortable for them to wear all day and to play in at recess. Costumes need to be appropriate for a Catholic School. Please: NO masks (make up is fine), NO props, NO weapons and NO "abbreviated"costumes.

The teachers will ask for help if they need it. For the most part, they will give their own small celebrations in their classrooms or in the cafeteria for the middle school.  Please do not send in any treats to school unless you are specifically directed to do so by the teacher or room mothers. Please  be respectful of this request.  It will help the event flow smoother.

Parent Teacher Conferences
The first marking period ends on Friday, November 4.  Report cards will be distributed on November 16-17 at Parent Teacher Conferences.  Tuition needs to be current for your child to receive a report card.  This includes July, August, September and October's tuition payments . All after school balances must also be reconciled.  Your timely payments are necessary for the school to meet its financial obligations .

Conference Appointments
Parent -Teacher Conferences will be held on Nov 16-17.  There will be early dismissal on both days.  Evening conferences are available on Wednesday, November 16 only.  The after school program will be held as usual.

Parents in grades PK-5 should have received a " Conference Appointment Form" .  Appointments will be scheduled through the main office. Thank you to all of those parents who have returned their forms back to school in a timely fashion.  We will return it to your child  with your time and day.  Please be on the lookout for it.

Appointments are not necessary to meet with middle school teachers. Middle School parents are free to come on Wednesday from 12:45PM-4:45PM and5:30PM- 7:30PM or on Thursday from 12:45PM-4:45PM.

Winter Gym Uniforms
Beginning November 7, all students will wear their sweat pants and sweatshirts for PE class with their sneakers.  Please visit Dennis Uniforms in Norwalk if you need to purchase the appropriate PE clothing.

All Saints Day
November 1 is a holy day of obligation. It is All Saints Day, the feast day of our school. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Parents are always invited to join us for Mass.

There is no school on Tuesday, November 8.  It is a teacher in-service day.
