A Message from the Principal

Congratulations to Xenia Britton of grade 7. Xenia participated in a reading program as part of the Convent of the Sacred Heart Outreach Program this summer. She won first place!

It was a pleasure seeing so many parents at our "Back to School Night" last week. Hopefully the sessions were informative. We are looking forward to successful year!

My Students Progress Parent Portal
All fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade parents should have received an email directly from My Student's Progress in reference to the school's Parent Portal. The portal allows you to view your child's grades on a daily basis. The portal serves as the vehicle for communication between you and the teacher. If you did not receive your email or you are still unable to access the portal, please let me know. If you have a question about a score on an assessment, please ask your son or daughter about it first, then email the teacher. For those of you new to this system, progress reports are no longer sent to parents.

New Parent Coffee

Are you brand-new to our school? Please join us for coffee Thursday morning in the library. It's a great chance to meet other new parents, and ask any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you.

Tuesday Rosary
A group of moms meet every Tuesday morning to pray the rosary together in the school chapel at 8am. Please feel free to join them this week.

Student Council Meeting
The first Student Council meeting will be held Tuesday, September 20, in room 215. All students who are interested in joining from grades 6-8 are welcome to attend.

Free Everton Soccer Clinic
Everton Soccer is providing a free soccer clinic to all second, third, fourth and fifth grade students. It begins tomorrow for grades two and three and Thursday for grades four and five. There is still room! Information and forms can be found here.

Basketball Evaluations
Basketball evaluations will be held on Wednesday, September 21.  All of the information you need can be found here.  Please print and complete your forms and bring them along with your check on Wednesday evening. Remember to read the Sports Handbook cover to cover.

Playground Closed After School
Until the work is completed on our roof, the playground and adjacent grass area are closed after school for everyone. Work is being done on the roof on the second shift. We ask you to please work with us by clearing the parking lot right after dismissal.

Order Your Student Greeting Cards

Students have been working very hard designing greeting cards for the MyCards fundraiser in Art Class. Please look out for your students envelope over the next two weeks. Card orders are due back to school October 14th. Extra templates and envelopes are available in the art room and all of the forms can be found online here. Card orders will be distributed to students before Thanksgiving. For all those who have participated already thank you!

No School October 3
School is closed on Monday, October 3. This is an In-Service day for all faculty.

If you have some good news to share about your child's accomplishments outside of school, please email me so we can include them in the weekly news. A picture would be great!

Fall begins on September 22 at 10:21 AM. Looking forward to the colors and cooler days ahead. Have a nice week!
